Job well done to all!!. Congrats to everyone for a good
show on friday night. Just a few things to work on at practice, remember your horn manuals. When you have to have your bell
pointed at the press box remember that is has to be directly at the press box. Also when you have your horn pointed towards
the stands make sure that it is alittle above parallel so that you can get the maximum projection. Another thing to remember
is to keep spacing. The judges don't know what shapes the sets are supposed to form on the field, but they do know when spacing is
off. The last thing to watch are your releases. The people who are in the back of the field are going to be heard last
so they are going to need to enter alittle ontop of the beat. Once again, good job everyone; you represented your band, family,
and the school as well as anyone could have asked for. Keep up the good work, and remember that on Monday we're going to start
setting the 3rd show, so bring your crayons, lots of water, and your binders.
Alright guys, it's our first real game. Tonight we play Ridgeview, I want
all of you to remember that you're represented everyone in this band. I'm proud of all of the work that we've gotten done.
Remember to be in the band room with enough time to check out your uniform, your hat, and to relax before the game. Mr. C
will be in the band room at 5:45 if you have any questions talk to either me or him. Remember to have fun, and to play your
best tonight! GO RAIDERS!!!
Alright, after a long practice on Monday, and a "decent" show on Friday
night, everyone is tired of marching. I know that everyone is being pushed to their maximum right now, and I'm happy to say
that quite a few are rising to the challenge. Like Mr. Creswell said "we're marching great in the block, but when you get
into the show it looks like we're marching it for the first time." We've all seen the video of Friday Night's performance
and there is alot to fix. I won't go on naming things because you've already heard it. I just want
to remind all the Seniors out there that this is our LAST year marching with OPHS. We all need to buckle
down and get ready for some hard work, because it's only 3 short weeks until our first competition in Tampa,
and I know that you all want to take home as many trophies as I do. There are going to be some hard bands out
there to compete with. We've got Ridgeview, and Clay to worry about. Let's keep up the good work, and I'll see you all
on the Field.
What an amazing practice we had on monday. It was very refreshing to see how hard we can all work
when we just concentrate. The downside to this, is we're going to be pushed harder than ever with the upcoming competitions.
We're at a high point right now, and if we don't keep working there will be a plateau that we will be stuck with. So lets
keep working and make THIS year an amazing year!
Hectic is the only word that I can think of to describe this week. We had a very productive practice
on Monday, and got ALOT of cleaning done on Puma. Practice on Thursday is going to be another
rough practice, it is the last full practice that we have until the Competition on Saturday. A word to the wise, DON'T
TALK WHEN MR. CRESWELL IS TALKING, DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WATER BREAKS, and this goes out to the leaders,
EVERYONE IN YOUR SECTION IS WORKING HARD, DON'T YELL, OR CHASTIZE PEOPLE WHO AREN'T SHOWING AS MUCH IMPROVEMENT
AS EVERYONE ELSE!. With that being said, I hope that everyone has a good Wednesday off, and I will see you
all at practice on Thursday.
